ID Scanning in a COVID safe way.
At Pineapple Studios, we’re passionate about using technology to solve real-world problems. A perfect example of this is the Food Pantry ID Scanner, an iOS application we developed for Harmony Food Pantry, based in Chicago.
Harmony Food Pantry approached us with a unique challenge: they wanted a COVID-safe method of scanning and storing client IDs without physically touching them. In the midst of a global pandemic, this was a crucial step in ensuring their operations continued smoothly while maintaining the health and safety of both their staff and clients.
To meet this need, we turned to Apple and Google-based API services. These tools allowed us to create a seamless and efficient application that enabled users to scan, verify, and store personal information captured through the ID.
The end product was an iOS application that not only ensured safety but also boosted efficiency. Users can now effortlessly scan IDs and store the captured personal information in a Google Sheet. This data can then be exported or manipulated as per Harmony Food Pantry’s requirements.
This project encapsulates Pineapple Studios’ commitment to innovative solutions that cater to our clients’ unique needs.
